We are looking for a CFO who is a collaborative, visible and motivational leader to take us to the next level in terms of strategic financial planning, analysing our financial strengths and weaknesses, providing commercial insight, to ensure that we maximise performance, meet our long-term goals and our future growth strategy.
About Us
Monumo is a deeptech engineering company focused on creating the world’s best electric motors. Located in central Cambridge and Coventry, we are a dynamic team of 30 professionals including motor engineers, physicists, computer scientists, machine learning experts, and entrepreneurs.
Born from a desire to drive the world to a sustainable future, our mission is to improve motor systems in a way that has never been possible before, and in doing so, help all of us use precious resources in a more sustainable way. We achieve this through a unique combination of AI, machine leaning, simulation and motor design expertise.
Monumo is heading to Series-A and, as a company, has to be agile in how it approaches things. We are looking for someone who might want to join us on a fractional basis now to get us to Series-A, get a feel for the organisation before a more permanent arrangement
might be discussed or someone who feels they want to jump straight in and join us for our continued journey. At the moment having the right person be able to join the team quickly is a key consideration.
This is an exciting and significant time to join Monumo, as we prepare for that Series-A funding and deliver for our first paying customers. This role is an excellent opportunity to apply sound financial acumen to a growing business, working alongside our multidisciplinary team of experts in a cutting-edge field, and to contribute meaningfully to the electrification revolution.
About the job
We are looking for a CFO who is a collaborative, visible and motivational leader to take us to the next level in terms of strategic financial planning, analysing our financial strengths and weaknesses, providing commercial insight, to ensure that we maximise performance,
meet our long-term goals and our future growth strategy.
The successful candidate will be adept at painting the financial picture of the company for our data room and be equally skilled under questioning from potential investors. This is very much a forward-thinking role, externally-focussed and entrepreneurial to complement the CEO and Founder in raising funds and building the business. Financial administration is largely outsourced, and the company finances are simple at present. It’s expected that a financial controller/director would be recruited post Series-A. The company is likely to employ a broker for assisting Series-A and you will be expected to collaborate closely with the broker’s team to build out the financial models and dataroom.
If you share our excitement and optimism about how to drive forward the business, whilst preserving what makes Monumo such a unique organisation, we would welcome your application.
Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do. We're looking for people who can believe in and embody these organisation values and can use them to drive forward progress.
