Relational Fundraiser

east to west is a charity committed to bringing hope to young lives. Since 1996, we have worked alongside children, young people, families, schools, communities and professionals to provide relational, practical and emotional support where it is needed most. Our work includes supporting schools, hospitals, GP surgeries and communities. At the heart of east to west is our belief that relationships have the power to bring hope and create lasting change. The Relational Fundraiser will help east to west develop sustainable income through genuine, long-term relationships with businesses, corporate partners, individual supporters and the wider community. This is deliberately a relational fundraising role. We are not looking simply for someone who can ask people for money. We are looking for someone who can tell the east to west story well, understand what motivates potential partners, connect them meaningfully with our work and develop relationships that grow over time. Key Responsibilities: -Companies & Corporate Partnerships: Identify, develop and steward relationships with businesses and companies that could support east to west financially, practically or strategically. -Relationship Development: Build relationships before transactions, taking time to understand potential partners and helping them understand the mission, impact and opportunities within east to west. -Corporate Network Development: Grow a strong network of local and wider businesses, encouraging introductions and making good use of existing relationships across the Board, SLT, team and supporters. -Individual Donor Relationships: Support the development and stewardship of individual donors, working alongside the Head of Vision & Culture and SLT where relationships may develop into significant or high-net-worth giving. -Donor Stewardship: Ensure supporters are thanked well, kept connected to the difference their giving makes and feel genuinely part of the east to west story. -Connecting Partners to Projects: Build strong links between supporters and our work in schools, GP surgeries, hospitals and communities, helping partners understand the tangible impact of their support. -Ambassador Programme: Help develop and strengthen an east to west Ambassador Programme, equipping people who believe in our work to advocate, introduce and open doors for east to west. -Social Media & Storytelling: Work with colleagues to ensure fundraising, partnerships and stories of impact are represented well across social media and other communications, remaining consistent with east to west branding and values. -Working Across east to west: Encourage and equip the wider team to recognise appropriate partnership opportunities without making individual team members feel responsible for fundraising. -Reporting & Development: Maintain an appropriate pipeline of relationships and opportunities, reporting progress against agreed targets and helping shape future fundraising priorities.

The Person We Are Looking For: -Is naturally relational and enjoys meeting new people and building connections. -Can confidently represent east to west with businesses, supporters and community partners. -Is comfortable asking for support while understanding that strong fundraising begins with listening and relationship. -Can communicate the impact of east to west clearly and compellingly. -Is proactive and able to turn introductions and conversations into meaningful next steps. -Can manage a pipeline of relationships and follow through consistently. -Understands the importance of excellent stewardship and saying thank you well. -Can work collaboratively with SLT, fundraising colleagues, project teams and the Board. -Is comfortable working towards agreed income and relationship-development targets. -Demonstrates integrity, discretion and professionalism. -Can combine creativity and initiative with good organisation and accountability. -Will actively contribute to the culture, ethos and values of east to west.

We also want to see a healthy pipeline of developing relationships, repeat giving, introductions, advocacy and partnerships that deepen over time. Working as Part of the Wider Fundraising Strategy: Fundraising and partnership development at east to west is a shared organisational responsibility, with clear accountability for individual portfolios. The wider strategy includes Churches, Community Fundraising & Local Grants, Events, Grants & Trusts, Companies & Corporate Partnerships, and Individual Giving & High Net Worth. The Relational Fundraiser's primary ownership is Companies & Corporate Partnerships, while supporting the wider fundraising team and SLT where relationships naturally cross between portfolios. This reflects the principle that building partnerships is everyone's responsibility, while ensuring clear ownership and accountability for each income stream.

Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) As east to west is a Christian charity and this role has a significant responsibility for representing our Christian ethos, values and mission to external partners and supporters, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for the postholder to be a practising Christian who can actively support and represent the Christian ethos of east to west.
