Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK. We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators. This role is based in a Moving on Project (MOP) hub in the Birmingham/West Midlands area.

About the job

As an Outreach Case Worker you will use your previous experience of working with vulnerable adults to lead on the provision of high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery and their dependents. You may conduct ABE (achieving best evidence) interviews and support clients in court, acting as a professional witness. You will provide expert written or verbal trafficking reports where necessary appropriate for court or other legal purposes such as immigration cases and NRM referrals. You will organise drop-in and group sessions to help improve women’s physical, emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing. You will also manage volunteers. The role includes regular travel across Birmingham and West Midlands for client case work, as well as occasional travel across the UK for quarterly meetings and conferences where appropriate. Experience of supporting individuals suffering from trauma is essential. Interested?
